THIS IS THE END

SUMMARY:

As 2020 approaches, I have made some decisions for my life and my career which directly affects the type of content that I produce. I wanted to take the opportunity to share with all of you exactly what that means and how things will be changing.

Some of you may like the changes, some of you may not, and I totally cool with either one. Sometimes in our lives and careers, we have to focus on the things that bring us fulfillment, and the changes I am making are for that very reason.

Take a listen to this week's episode of The Steve Freeman Podcast to find out what will be changing in my world in 2020 and beyond.

I would love to hear your thoughts and even more important, the type of content you would like to see me produce. Please feel free to leave your thoughts, comments and questions in the comments section below!

Is Writers Block A Real Thing?

LISTEN TO THIS EPISODE:

SUMMARY:

People throw around the term "Writers Block", but is it a real thing, or is it our brain's way of telling us that we are over processing and trying to cram too much information in.

I really think that we can overwhelm ourselves to the point of the creative side of our brains shutting down. I don't think that we impose writers' block on ourselves or that we simply all of the sudden run out of creative ideas.

Writers' block is a real thing, but you can't fight your way through it or create your way out of it. Sometimes you just need to step away and free your mind and in doing so we open ourselves up and create space in our brains for something new to occupy.

Are You Really Thankful?

LISTEN TO THIS EPISODE

SUMMARY:

We all say "Thank You" and claim to be thankful for the many things and people in our lives, but, do we really mean it, like truly mean it?

In this episode of The Steve Freeman Podcast, I wanted to talk about my thoughts on being thankful, what it means to me and how I can improve the quality of the actions behind the words.

Too often we say thank you as an automatic response with little to no thought behind the words. Thank You, should be an action statement!

I hope you enjoy this episode!

Is Songwriting Still A Profession?

LISTEN TO THE PODCAST:

 SUMMARY:

Is Songwriting Still A Profession? The music business has changed a lot over the years, but none of the changes have affected anyone more than the songwriters. As someone who has made an amazing living writing songs for the last 15 years, I had to address the elephant in the room. Yes, songwriting is still a viable profession, however, there are new rules to apply to your career in order to give yourself the opportunity to succeed as a songwriter.

There used to be a great marriage between songwriters and artists, labels and publishers. Writers wrote the songs and artists sang them. This marriage was very profitable for many years, but like many marriages, the honeymoon is over, as is the union.

With sales declining, labels are now turning their artists into songwriters to capitalize on lost sales revenue that comes from physical and digital sales. The 360 deal is in full effect. When an artist signs a 360 deal, they are...

How To Start A Podcast

SUMMARY:

Fact, Podcasting is popular and getting so by the day. What was thought of as a niche way of communication has now become mainstream.

CBS News recently did a poll and survey on the growth of podcasting. Their findings show that the audio platform is on the rise, especially with younger adults.

"Most Americans now listen to podcasts, and the percentage who do has risen considerably over just the past year. According to a new CBS News poll, two-thirds of Americans listen to podcasts at least once in a while, including 23% who do so a few times a week.

By comparison, a year ago, a majority of Americans said they never listened to podcasts.

Podcast listening has increased in all age categories, but it has increased the most among younger adults. Now, 29% of Americans between the ages of 18-34 listen to podcasts at least a few times a week (up from 16% in December 2017).  A year ago, 47% of adults between 18 and 34 said they never listened to...
